UX Energy Services - Management Team

Martin Birtles has over 30 years experience in industry including senior management and managing director positions within IBM (1980 - 1994) and Granada Group (1995 - 2000) with particular emphasis on company restructure, integration and overall development.

Martin spearheaded the launch of UX Energy Services UX OnlineÂ® procurement platform and associated energy services in 2001, now seen as the most sophisticated and effective online energy procurement system in the UK. At both strategic and tactical levels, Martin has been instrumental in driving UX Energy Services development, evolving its procurement and risk management techniques and expanding its broad range of energy services to meet the emerging needs of the industry.

Martin has a BSc (Econs) Hons degree from Loughborough University.

Bharat is a key member of the senior team within UX Energy Services managing all the financial aspects of the company and responsible directly for its legal and commercial conscience.

Prior to joining UX Energy Services in 2001, Bharat's previous experience included five years with Touche Ross in London where he specialised in auditing and consultancy to manage large client's internal controls and operational structures.

Bharat has a degree Economics.

Alastair is responsible for all Energy Risk Management and specialist Energy Consultancy Services delivered by UX Energy Services.

With over 20 years experience in the energy industry, starting at ICI before moving to market the IPE (now ICE), Alastair has operated as Energy Manager at MeesPierson Derivatives and served as an IPE Board member before moving into the supply business at TXU. With his considerable trading and risk management experience Alastair has headed the Risk Management operations of several energy consultancy business operations, as Head of Risk Management at EIC Ltd and prior to joining UX Energy Services, Alastair carried full P&L responsibility for the Energy division of JC Rathbone Associates in the city of London.

Paul's extensive experience in energy, procurement and data sharing environments spanning 25 years, enables him to continually improve the process of information access, sharing and automation within the energy industry.

Whilst responsible for the development, design and implementation of all UX Energy Services technical solutions, in particular the company's core system 'UX Online®' energy procurement platform, Paul and his team also contribute to the strategic direction of the business delivering future-proof, error-free procurement systems tailored to specific customers needs.

Paul has a PhD in Nuclear Structure Physics (Manchester University) and an MBA from Henley Management College.

Since Nick joined in 2002, he has introduced and developed a number of key marketing initiatives and broadened the role to encompass all aspects of marketing the business, from New Product Development, Lead Generation and Communications both internal and external.

Nick and his team are responsible for product development, market intelligence and data, lead generation, bid support, strategic third party relations and all marketing activities.

Prior to joining UX Energy Services, Nick worked for an international strategic marketing consultancy with responsibility for major corporations including Intel, Western Digital, Telenor and small start-up organisations across a number of sectors including energy both directly and on a consultative basis.

Terry has extensive experience in selling and delivering business energy procurement solutions in all sectors from retail to manufacturing. Past client's have included Whyte McKay, Aldi, Egger, Eastman Chemicals and many more.

His expertise in the energy industry ranges from the delivery of dynamic e-procurement tendering through to the more complex process of flexible energy contracting, portfolio risk managed services and the on-going analytical support services required.
